** Ilchi Lee suggests the concept of "Earth Human."
Earth Human is finally weighing anchor. We have prepared for this website with hope and joy, and with a deep sense of responsibility. Although many people are dedicating their lives to creating a better future for themselves and their neighbors, it is not always easy to envision an optimistic future for humanity.
There are numerous indications that something is seriously wrong with contemporary civilization. These include destruction of the environment, dwindling resources, overpopulation, homogenization of cultural diversity, and degeneration of time honored institutions. Our current mode of civilization is often described as 'unsustainable,' and we face crises in the arenas of the attainment of peace, preservation of the environment, and ultimately of the survival of humanity.
In response to this critical state of affairs, we believe the task of this magazine is to inform our readers of the prospect for a better future as Earth Humans, and to encourage them to choose actions that will facilitate a new, earth-centered world view. We at Earth Human Magazine believe that the earth, humans, and the human brain are the essential keys to determining the future of civilization on earth. Therefore, we will endeavor to generate and distribute productive, creative, and peaceful information about the earth, humans, and the brain to our readers.
Ilchi Lee asks, "Why Earth, Human, and Brain?" He answers as follows:
With this perspective, human consciousness can proceed from a position of individual self-centeredness to one of collective concern for the entire globe. When we break free of distorted and bigoted information born of near-sighted self-interest we will begin to see the earth and humanity as they really are. We will then finally possess wisdom and power to change the direction of civilization on earth. When the content of the human brain changes, the future of the earth will change. As Earth Humans, we will strive to cultivate and widely disseminate Earth Human philosophy and Earth Human culture based on these three keywords.
We do not have a guarantee for the future. We have an opportunity to make choices that will enhance the possibilities for our collective future. . .or diminish them. Thus, the future is not our right, but our responsibility. It is my sincere wish that this magazine contributes to clarifying and implementing our vision for a peaceful and prosperous future for all humans.
Is there hope for our planet? Will civilization on planet earth, built by a species called humankind, be able to heal itself and establish a lasting peace? Our answer is a resounding "Yes." We believe that the desire for peace is innate and compelling, and essential to the true nature of life. We also believe that divinity and the capacity for self-examination and change reside universally in the human heart.
I wish to express my gratitude to members of the World Earth Human Alliance, to our reading audience for choosing this magazine, to the trees that provided the paper it's printed on, and to the earth that sustains all of our lives. You who hold this magazine in your hands are our strongest supporters.

Peace is such a familiar word to us not because we have enjoyed it for a long time but because we have had a deep unfulfilled longing for it since the beginning of human history. We have been used to the idea of peace through its absence not through its presence. Peace is ultimately a human issue. Before our social and political systems can change, human beings must change -- not one or two persons, but enough people must change for it to have a culturally significant and socially lasting impact on the direction of the universal human experience in the future.
Peace is a matter of application, Ilchi Lee says, rather than theory. One must not be mistaken into thinking that he or she is contributing constructively to peace on Earth just because one is thinking, speaking, and even lecturing about peace. Peace is not something that can be realized through words and thoughts only. Peace can only be realized through concrete and sustained cultural and societal efforts at healing the body, mind and spirit of yourself, your neighbors, your society and the humanity at large. This is what "Peaceology" seeks to achieve.
Peaceology is a system of philosophy that is centered on not one specific religion, nation or cultural tradition - Peaceology by Ilchi Lee is centered on the Earth at its center, not any particular nation or religion - Peace that acts instead of just talks and thinks - only such peace can truly bring about health for humanity and restore beauty to the Earth.
